Are the criteria for ranking sites the same for all Search Engines?
The criteria search engines use for ranking websites are not completely revealed. However, it is considered that most of the major search engines, such as Google, Yahoo!, MSN or Ask use similar criteria for ranking sites, as you will see similar results for the same query. There are though major differences, and these differences will affect the SEO process. For example, Google is generally the slowest to reflect changes in rankings resulting from successful SEO efforts, while MSN is the fastest, so clients will generally see improvements in results starting in MSN, then Yahoo and finally Google. Nevertheless, a well-executed SEO campaign will yield positive results across all search engines, even though the timing may vary to see those improvements.
