What is the difference between SEO and PPC?
Search engine optimisation refers to the on page and off page techniques one uses to organically get higher rankings in search engines for a website. Those on page techniques would refer to adding relevant headings (h1,h2,h3), keywords, title and descriptions. It would first require keyword research as to see the best ones to use and then apply them. Also, for the on page SEO, it is important to have high quality content that is updated regularly. Off page search engine optimisation refers to the SEO efforts that are made on the Internet, outside your site. This is basically achieved through getting a high number of backlinks, article submissions or directory submissions.
PPC (Pay Per Click advertising), is a paid search engine internet advertising technique that basically refers to your website getting high rankings for a paid number of keywords. All search engines have their own Pay Per Click services, but the most renowned seems to be that of Google (Google AdWords). So, while through SEO you aim to get rankings without paying, through PPC your ranking is based on how high you bid.
However, people know which are paid and which are not, so they might give more importance and trust to those that are organic rather than paid.
